Every year, hundreds of thousands of students repeat the same mistakes when filling out their admission preference form: focusing only on score rankings while ignoring the city, campus facilities, and the real job market value of the program. In this guide we listed seven questions to answer before opening the form.
Are you prioritizing the city or the program? The cutoff score gap for the same program across different cities can reach up to 20 points. If your city preference isn't clear, your ranking order loses its meaning.
Are your backup choices really backups? The first five rows should be the school/program combinations you genuinely want, the middle rows reasonable acceptable alternatives, and the last rows safe options so you don't end up unplaced.
